ABOUT US
Founded in 1995, Adelaide Spikers is proud to be Adelaide’s oldest and only LGBTQIA+ social volleyball club. Over the years, we have built a community on inclusivity, diversity, respect, and teamwork—values that shape everything we do both on and off the court. While predominately an LGBTQIA+ club, we welcome players of all ages (15+), genders, orientations, cultural backgrounds and skill levels through participation in weekly social games and various social events throughout the year. Our aim is to foster a sense of belonging within the queer world while promoting health, wellbeing and LGBTQIA+ inclusion in sports.
Whether you’re a seasoned player or brand-new to the game, you’ll find a friendly, supportive space where you can connect and have fun. At Spikers, everyone is welcome, and everyone has a place in our team.

Q: What's the vibe? A: All sessions are social, non-competitive and super relaxed with plenty of music to dance around to. Teams are randomised and there is never a shortage of laughs - we don't take ourselves too seriously! Our beach sessions are designed to be even more chilled, with lots of opportunity to rest, socialise and swim (not an official part of the event). We always grab a bite to eat after each session and everyone is welcome to join! |

A: Nope! While a little experience with basic skills is recommended, we have plenty of members who can help you learn the reigns and get you playing in no time! We mix up the teams each week to promote socialising and encourage newer players to play alongside and learn from the more experienced players. We also run coaching sessions during the warm up to help people with specific elements of the game.
