The Ahuroa Volunteer Fire Brigade
Out volunteers are made up of locals in the community who come from a range of backgrounds and occupations, all coming together to work as part of a team to serve our community.
Out first response area covers 142sqkm made up of farmland, forestry, native bush, waterways, farms and road. We serve a resident population of approximately 1140 people covering 459 addresses as well as backing up neighbouring brigades. We also cover the busy stretch of SH16 from Makarau to Glorit.
In the past year we have attended over 100 calls, the majority of which are medical first response, but also include motor vehicle accidents, vegetation fires, structural fires, vehicle fires, fallen trees and flooding.
