Alanah Ellen Brand is a contemporary portrait painter whose practice explores the stories of women. Through portraiture, she examines lived experience, identity and personal agency.
Brand obtained a Master of Visual Art in 2019 from La Trobe University, Bendigo. She has been a finalist in the Archibald Prize, Salon des Refusés, Kennedy Prize, 12th Prospect Portrait Prize, Bluethumb Art Prize, Tatiara Art Prize, The Percivals and the Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award, and was a semi-finalist in the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize.
