Albury Wodonga Social Connections (AWSC) was established in 2024 by social workers Barb Palmer and Sheree Rudder. Driven by a shared vision, they created a welcoming space where individuals with diverse needs can come together and build meaningful social connections within their local community.
AWSC is committed to inclusivity, diversity, and respect. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and work to foster a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for everyone.
Social Connection events are coordinated and supported by a dedicated team of qualified and experienced allied health therapists, disability professionals, individuals with lived experience, and behaviour support practitioners who generously volunteer their time to make these events possible.
Each volunteer has a passion to support the social connection and growth of diverse individuals in the local community. Volunteers assist to 'break the ice' at each event to foster conversation between attendees, however do not provide direct care support.
If you have any suggestions for local social connection events and/or would like to become a volunteer, please let us know!
All enquiries for current and future events can be forwarded to the AWSC email - hello@awsocialconnections.com
