The Australian Local Government Women's Association – Tasmania supports and encourages women’s participation in local government.
ALGWA was established by the indomitable Dame Enid Lyons in Canberra in 1951 and ALGWA Tasmania formed in 1978.
Membership is open to local government women (candidates, elected members and council officers) and all who support equity for women in local government.
