Andrew Salisbury has many years experience in education, literacy instruction, and the assessment of specific learning disabilities. He has been exploring language from various aspects for the past decade. In particular;
language as a tool to negotiate our world - speaking and writing to create shared realities at the social level
Language as a tool to alter our perceptions - specifically Acceptance Commitment Therapy to recreate our reality at the intrapersonal level
Language as a foundation of measures of learning capability - specifically the model proposed by Cattel-Horn-Carrol (CHC theory) to describe and understand how change can happen over time as a result of education.
More recently, Andrew has been fascinated by the Relational Frame Theory (RFT) model of language acquisition, and has begun the work of applying this model to education and schooling.
