Annaliesa Rose (BMus (jazz) (ANU), GradDipEd (UNE), MAM (MBA equiv)(Australian Institute of Music)) is a versatile musician (who’s instrument is voice) and composer who has been involved in music and the performing arts her whole life. Performing in clubs since 1999, Annaliesa has performed at many different venues and festivals, most recently finishing a little tour comprising of two gigs in the Czech Republic (Brno’s “Music Lab” with Emil Viklický, Petr Dvorský and Tomáš Hobzek and a gig in a beautiful concert hall in Františkovy Lázně with Emil Viklický) and a full run of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with two shows “Is That Jazz?” featuring David Patrick, Daniel Bulatkin & Emil Viklicky on various days and “Annaliesa Rose Sings the Peter Allen Songbook” (receiving a 4 star review for her Peter Allen Show) featuring Daryl Wallis as musical director and pianist. Also while there singing with a local Edinburgh Jazz band on two occasions as a septet.

Back in Australia she regularly performs in Wollongong (at Wests Illawarra and as part of Jazz & Blues Sundays at The Basement of The Illawarra Builders Club), Sydney (at “The Foundry616” jazz bar in Ultimo) and Canberra (at ‘Molly’ Bar and Albert Hall, among other venues including the National Film & Sound Archives, National Gallery of Australia, The Canberra Wine House, The National Press Club) as well as at many clubs, hotels, bars, wineries and jazz festivals over the years. She also performed in the 2000 Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies and other functions as part of the Millennium Marching Band.

With a passion for jazz, and after tuition from her mother Marjorie Shepheard, Annaliesa went on to learn from Australia’s best of the best (especially in the jazz world) Kerrie Biddell. From there she went on to study a Bachelor of Music in the elite jazz program at The Australian National University in Canberra where she was taught by many of Australia’s finest working jazz musicians. She then topped off her studies with a Master’s Degree in Arts Management at the Australian Institute of Music to better understand the workings of her industry.

Annaliesa recorded her debut album with Miroslav Bukovsky, Michael Bartolomei, Phil Stack and Tim Firth, titled “Is That Jazz?” which is available for purchase and streaming on Bandcamp and all streaming services.
