Eora (Sydney) based indie-rock outfit Aria Nova take cues from the hook-driven indie rock of the early 2000s and the darker edge of post-punk, the band combine slick rhythms and fuzzy guitars with cathartic energy and reflective lyricism.
The first two singles ‘Lover’ and ‘What You Wanted’ feel urgent yet atmospheric, occupying a space between dance-floor euphoria and late-night introspection. Following their debut, Aria Nova embarked on a run of shows across NSW, performing alongside The Gnomes, Large Mirage, and Arabella & The Heist. Both singles ‘What You Wanted’ and ‘Lover’ received support from community radio (2SER), while the video for the second single ‘Lover’ earned a spot in rotation on Rage.
