Formed in a rehearsal room during the winter of 2023, Astral Collective began their journey through Naarm/Melbourne's vibrant underground music scene. Bound by a shared love of jazz fusion, groove driven improvisation and boundary pushing instrumental music, the quartet have spent the past three years refining a sound that balances meticulous composition with spontaneous exploration. Every performance serves as a new interpretation of their music, where familiar themes are reshaped through improvisation and the chemistry between the four musicians.
This evolving approach reaches its first major milestone with the release of their debut LP, Horizons, arriving in September 2026. Rather than a definitive statement, the album captures a moment in the band's ongoing musical journey, one that continues to expand every time they step onto a stage.
