The Ballarat Gambling Harm Prevention Taskforce is a collaborative group of local organisations, service providers, and community members working together to reduce gambling harm across our region.
The Taskforce was established in early 2018 by staff representing several local interested organisations.
Current members include:
Child and Family Services (Cafs)
Ballarat East Neighbourhood House
Ballarat Community Health
City of Ballarat
and a lived experience member
The objectives of the Taskforce are:
To raise community awareness of the harms related to gambling in the Central Highlands region
To advocate for effective legislative and policy reform in relation to gambling
To encourage and promote alternative activities to gambling
To adopt and promote a public health approach in relation to gambling and gambling harm
To utilise a collaborative approach in sharing resources, knowledge, information, networks and opportunities amongst organisations
