Blackstone Valley Education Foundation (BVEF) is a nonprofit organization that partners with school districts, educators, industry, and community organizations to strengthen the connection between education and the world beyond school. BVEF’s work is centered on early career-connected learning, educator development, and creating meaningful opportunities for students to build the skills, experiences, and relationships that help prepare them for future learning, work, and life.
Through BVEF/Real Learning, we help educators bring greater relevance, authenticity, and real-world connection into everyday teaching and learning. Real Learning reflects our belief that students should have opportunities to understand why their learning matters, see how academic content connects to careers and communities, practice durable skills in meaningful contexts, and reflect on what those experiences reveal about their strengths, interests, and future possibilities.
Our work includes professional learning for educators, career-connected curriculum development, teacher externships, student leadership and career exploration programs, and partnerships that bring educators and students into closer connection with local industry and community expertise. Programs such as Employing the Future and ExGen are designed to build educator capacity so career-connected learning becomes part of everyday classroom practice rather than an isolated experience.
