About Boon Choo
Born in 1962, in the old historical town of Melaka, Boon left his hometown in 1980 and received his education at Monash University in Melbourne. He is now a Singaporean, married, with two children. Rights To the World is Boon’s second book. It follows his first work, The Democratic Outcome State published in 2020.
His career has largely been in Banking and Insurance. It has taken him on assignments, living and working in 8 different locations, i.e., Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Before he started his career in the financial industry, Boon helped set up GM automotive dealerships in Asia including successful ones in China. He later took on a Global CFO role with the Wholesale Services division of ABN AMRO Bank in London. Returning to Asia, he worked for ABN AMRO, Royal Bank of Scotland, and ANZ as Chief Operating Officer for their Asian businesses. Boon has also worked with insurance companies heading up the Asia Operations functions of MetLife and Manulife. In spite of a busy career, his inspiration has been the mundane life lived in all the places he has been, asking questions others typically ignore. This curiosity is the basis of his published works.
