Busselton International Friendship Inc. (BIFI) was formed in April 2024 by nine energetic committee members. Our mission is to provide friendship and support to those in need.
According to the 2021 Census, 24% of Busselton residents were born overseas and 45% have at least one parent born in another country. These statistics highlight the significant portion of our population with foreign heritage. Many of these residents arrive without family or friends.
By offering a range of opportunities, from shared meals through to resettlement services and general family support, BIFI aims to fosters friendships and creates a surrogate family for these new community members. Communication is key to improving mental health. By engaging with new international families through open dialogue, we can help identify their needs, offer support and direct them to available services.
