BYU–Hawaii Theatre is a performing arts program within the Faculty of Culture, Language & Performing Arts. Rooted in BYU–Hawaii’s mission to prepare disciples of Jesus Christ who will live and lead in Oceania and the Asian Rim, the Theatre Program uses training, creativity, collaboration, and performance to cultivate knowledge, understanding, and empathy—and to uplift, empower, and unite God’s children.
Each fall and winter semester, BYU–Hawaii Theatre presents productions for students and community members, creating meaningful opportunities to learn, serve, create, and share stories together. Through BYU–Hawaii’s unique intercultural community, the program celebrates voices, experiences, cultures, and artistic traditions from across Asia, the Pacific, and the wider world. Its work reflects the university’s vision of intercultural peace and unity through living the teachings of Jesus Christ.
In Fall 2026, BYU–Hawaii Theatre presents Savior of the World: His Birth and Resurrection, a sacred, intercultural musical drama exploring the birth, Resurrection, and appearances of Jesus Christ through music, movement, dance, cultural expression, and testimony. Created by an experienced production team, large cast and creative team of students and community members, and the university's beautiful choirs, the production invites audiences to encounter the Savior’s story through the voices and cultures of Asia and the Pacific. We hope every guest feels welcome, strengthened, and reminded that Jesus Christ truly is the Savior of the entire world.
