Hello everyone, I'm Callum, and I'm based here in Perth. This year, my family was hit with a devastating shock when my brother, Gordon, had a stroke. He was a healthy man in his 50s, with no prior medical history that would have indicated such a sudden health crisis.
For us and his family, it was a complete surprise. Thankfully, Gordon survived the worst of it, but his stroke has had a significant impact on his memory and cognitive abilities. He now requires in-patient care.
Gordon leaves behind a loving wife and four young children, and I'm determined to do everything I can to support them and raise awareness about this disease. I want to help ensure that stroke survivors and their families receive the support and resources they need to recover, and I'm committed to contributing towards vital medical research.
I'm here today to share my story and advocate for the Stroke Foundation. Together, we can make a difference and help prevent strokes and improve the lives of those affected.
