Hi, I'm Callan, founder of CameraDad.
I've been passionate about photography for over 30 years and have been fortunate enough to work in many areas of the industry.
Throughout my career I've photographed on cruise ships all over the world, worked with resorts, covered events, and shot a wide variety of work. I've started many little photography businesses, sold and demonstrated camera equipment, and helped thousands of people choose and learn to use their cameras.
I've also spent more than 20 years running workshops, training sessions, and photography education programs for photographers of all skill levels.
I've been lucky enough to live a fun, photographic life that's allowed me to travel the world, raise a child, support my family and explore all aspects and styles of photography. My goal now is to curate the knowledge I've gained and share it with people in a fun accessible way.
I do this with a range of workshops, custom designed to help people easily understand the basics of each field, one step at a time.
I provide exercises to work on later, feedback and a safe fun community to learn, grow and most importantly have fun in.
What I enjoy most is helping people simplify photography and gain confidence with their camera. Whether you're a complete beginner or someone looking to build on existing skills, my goal is to create a relaxed, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment where questions are encouraged and learning is hands-on.
CameraDad was created to make photography more accessible, less intimidating, and more fun. I believe photography should be something people enjoy, not something they feel overwhelmed by.
