Castlemaine Historical Society Inc.
Founded in 1965, the Castlemaine Historical Society (CHSI) studies, records and promotes the history and heritage of Castlemaine and its surrounds.
Based at The Former Courthouse in Goldsmith Cres, Castlemaine, CHSI preserves and shares local history through research, historical records and community activities.
The Society also maintains resources relating to the Mount Alexander Goldfields and undertakes research into historically significant places, sites and objects.
CHSI welcomes members, new members, researchers, history enthusiasts, volunteers and the wider community to explore and enjoy the fascinating stories of Castlemaine and the Mount Alexander region.
