Marnie grew up in a dairy family and found her love for cheese while working as a cheesemaker. After a few years in the creamery, she discovered she liked talking to people about flavors and cheesemaking more than actually waking up at 5am to make it. She made the switch from maker to monger, partnering with her sister, Lydia Clarke, and opened a cheese shop in their hometown of Claremont, California. Cheese Cave is a cut to order cheese shop featuring over 100 cheeses, an eclectic selection of natural wines and craft beers as well as a curated larder. The growing success of Cheese Cave allowed Marnie and Lydia, along with Chef Reed Herrick to open DTLA Cheese Superette in downtown Los Angeles in 2013 which offers a tighter selection of cheeses alongside a seasonal, cheese centric cafe menu.
