'Beach Watch' is a local short film based very loosely on the hit American TV series 'Bay Watch'.
It is more closely linked with Andrew Toolis who is a local Coolum man who was born with down syndrome and his LOVE for watching the show when he was younger. Andrew sometimes used watching Bay Watch as an 'escape' from reality, as he felt like Bay Watch was a place where people looked after each other, are healthy and really good looking!.
This is your opportunity to walk a LA style red carpet! You are encouraged to glam up and enjoy the 'paparazzi' as you waltz down the red carpet with your pop corn and drink to enter the seated event.
All proceeds from this event will be given to local charity 'My Moons Mission', supporting Tallulah Whitrod and children who are born with a rare genetic disease SPG56.
This short film and premiere is locally grown, produced by local artist and arts facilitator Chony fro Chony's Art Room and filmed by Timothy Birch and Aimee & Mark Gray from Kerbside Collective. Supported by The Coolum Hearts Shed and The Community Arts Grant from The Sunshine Coast Council.
Your heart will feel warmer than it ever has joining us for this once in a life time World premiere of 'Beach Watch'.
