The Clarence Valley Orchestra and Chorus was formed in 2014 to produce large scale community-based entertainment.
The volunteer membership is comprised of amateur musicians, young music students, qualified music teachers, semi-professional and professional musicians ranging in age from 12 to 80+.
All have been drawn from the Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Lismore/Ballina and Casino regions, with invited guest musicians and old friends. It has become a musical flagship of the North Coast of NSW and promotes classical music and popular entertainment on a grand scale for the pleasure of both our community and visitors to the area.
Profits from concerts go towards registered charities or small scholarships for CVO members enrolled in a university music program to further their musical careers.
Over $100,000 has been donated to charity and other organisations since the orchestra’s inception in 2014, not to mention over $250,000 spent from using local businesses in producing these concerts.
