CollectiveAir:
We are a Black Lesbian-led org focused on the access and distribution of masks on Chicago transit lines. The CDC and US government divests life-saving amounts of money from COVID-19 health care into war crimes. We aim to fill in the gap and give access to KN95 and N95 respirators to folks who need them, especially Black and ethnically oppressed groups.
The Axis Circle:
Welcome to The Axis Circle! We are a few friends who care deeply about our shared values in collective access, Black liberation, anti-capitalism, anti-imperialism, and LGBTQ+ affirmation. All of these things are inseparable. We know we can’t have any without the others, despite the way some of these values are neglected in spaces created to uphold the others. Coming together to form The Axis Circle, we are beginning by offering disability-affirming arts and culture events. Our mission is to contribute to a culture that centers and celebrates disabled communities, prioritizing Black and LGBTQ+ disabled people.
Riotous Roots:
Rise is a queer Black disabled femme on Potawatomi, Ojibwa, and Odawa territory (Chicago).
Rise is a visual artist, poet, full spectrum (birth/postpartum/grief & loss/abortion) birthworker, yoga teacher, meditation facilitator, gender affirming and trauma informed care and disability justice educator, access consultant and community care worker.
Rise is deeply invested in disability justice, access, centering wellness for Black queer folk, trauma education, and rest. When not doing the most, they enjoy daydreaming, dancing, and hanging with their support pup, Jelly Ferocious.
