Meet Your Facilitator – Emma Fitzgerald, Registered Art Therapist
Emma Fitzgerald is a qualified counsellor and registered Art Therapist with ANZACATA, passionate about supporting others through creative, non-verbal therapeutic methods. With a background in Fine Arts (UNSW) and a Master’s in Art Therapy, Emma brings a rich blend of artistic practice, clinical training, and lived experience to her work.
Her approach is trauma-informed, client-centred, and deeply compassionate, supporting individuals across a range of settings including youth services, NDIS, complex trauma, and rehabilitation. She is also trained in DBT-informed art therapy, allowing her to integrate structured and flexible approaches depending on client needs.
Emma has worked in acute hospital settings, outpatient youth organisations, and community programs such as Headspace and Youth Off The Streets, with a particular focus on young people and women in recovery.
Emma believes in the power of art to foster connection, healing, and empowerment. She offers a space that is safe, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity, curiosity, and creativity, inviting participants to explore, express, and reconnect with their most genuine and empowered selves.
