Zola Rose founded Common Ground to enable community-led housing that increases the social, cultural, ecological, and economic wellbeing of communities. She promotes strategies and frameworks that use a living systems approach to housing, including co-creation with future residents, localised systems for food, water, energy, and waste, clustered and smaller housing leaving more green spaces, collectively owned land and resources, and tenure models that allow for affordable homeownership and rental.
Shama Ethnic Women‘s Trust (Shama) plays an important role in Aotearoa
by representing, shaping, and responding to the needs and aspirations of ethnic women to support them to thrive. Shama also plays a role in
bringing awareness and capacity to other sectors of society to foster
partnership and collaboration towards the same mission.
