Coral Tree Family Service is a state-wide tertiary mental health service for children under 12 and their families, based in North Ryde, Sydney. Part of the Northern Sydney Local Health District’s CYMHS (Child and Youth Mental Health Services), Coral Tree works with families where a child has significant emotional or behavioural challenges that have not responded to previous intervention.
The service offers a multidisciplinary, family-centred model that brings together psychiatry, psychology, social work, family therapy, occupational therapy, and education. Families engage in an intensive residential program focused on rebuilding relationships, strengthening parenting practices, and supporting children’s emotional regulation and behaviour.
Coral Tree’s approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to each family’s unique needs. Interventions are grounded in relational, behavioural, and attachment-informed models, with an emphasis on in-the-moment parent coaching and practical strategies that families can carry into daily life.
In addition to direct clinical work, Coral Tree is committed to supporting the broader mental health workforce. The service provides professional development, consultation, and training to clinicians across NSW, particularly those working in regional and rural areas.
