Cynthia is a passionate cook, herbalist, and advocate for ancestral foods who blends her diverse cultural heritage with a deep commitment to nourishing the body and spirit. Born and raised in Panama with strong Peruvian influences, her culinary journey began at a young age, shaped by the rich flavors and traditions of Latin American cuisine. It wasn’t until her 20s, however, that she discovered the power of cooking as an expression of love—transforming her passion for food into an art form that she continues to explore and refine.
Originally a graphic designer and photographer, her career took a new direction when she delved into health and wellness, initially through the creation of handmade soaps after learning of all the toxins present in personal care products. This led her to study Herbalism in California and Massachusetts, where she honed her understanding of natural healing practices. Her love for food and health converged when she began studying and eventually working at Milk Street Cooking School, furthering her expertise in global culinary traditions and techniques.
In 2015, during her first pregnancy, Cynthia became intrigued by "politically incorrect nutrition," sparking a deep dive into ancestral cooking methods and holistic nutrition. She became particularly fascinated with the art of fermentation, sourdough baking, and other age-old cooking practices that reconnect us with our roots. She holds health coach diplomas from Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and The Primal Health Coach Institute.
Beyond the kitchen, Cynthia is a dedicated photographer, capturing moments that inspire her both in food and in life. She’s also an avid gardener, cultivating a deep connection to the earth through the growth of fresh, seasonal produce.
Currently, Cynthia lives with her husband and the love of her life, David, and their three children, along with their cat Bruno and dog Bella. As she continues to explore the intersection of health, wellness, and culinary arts, she remains deeply committed to helping others reconnect with food in a meaningful and intentional way.
