About Us – Dementia Friendly Community Alliance Port Macquarie
The Dementia Friendly Community Alliance Port Macquarie is a community not for profit organisation, working to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for people living with dementia and their carers in the Port Macquarie–Hasting’s region.
The Alliance brings together people living with dementia, family carers, community organisations, health professionals, local businesses and volunteers who share a commitment to improving understanding of dementia and promoting inclusion within the community.
Our aim is to ensure that people living with dementia remain valued, visible and connected members of the community. We support initiatives that increase awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage practical changes that make everyday places and services easier to access and navigate.
Through education, advocacy and community programs, the Alliance works to build a community where people living with dementia can continue to participate in social, cultural and community life with dignity and respect.
By working together, we strive to make Port Macquarie a place where people living with dementia and their families feel supported, understood and able to live well.
