Dime is the hybrid electronic/acoustic experimental jazz project of Edan Walker (keys/synth), Anton Levings (beats/synth/fx), Zac Nisbet (bass), Sara Todner (trumpet) and Ethan Schembri (tenor sax). This project creates unique sonic textures through a combination of traditional and non-traditional instrumentation and is inspired by the works of Nala Sinephro, Floating Points and Nubya Garcia. Our group seeks to take the traditional improvised ethos of jazz and push it into a new direction with a unique line up. The group utilises experimental sonics that combine acoustic instruments like saxophone and trumpet with modular electronic synthesis paired with live drum programming and sampling, allowing soundscapes to weave in and out of groove and ambient spaces.
