Dominique is the author of the Stories of Newport Lakes. A book celebrating the journey of the lakes, from the land of the Yalukit-willam, through quarrying to a vibrant regenerating landscape.
Dominique is an author, educator, policy advisor and regenerative thinker. She started researching and writing on regenerative development, biophilia and placemaking in 2005, working in sustainability since 1994. Her focus is on real projects, on the ground and all the messy conversations that enable it to evolve in place.
Governance Experience - She is a board director and chair of Greenfleet (2018-), Voice of Nature on the Board of Regen Melbourne (2025 - ), previously on the Circular Economy Ministerial Advisory Group (2021-2024) and Trustee at Trust for Nature (2019-2021). Dominique was a founding member of the Australian Living Futures Institute (2012-2015).
Policy Experience - Dr Hes was part of the Circular Economy Ministerial Advisory Group working on the national CE policy from 2021-2024 and worked on the Embodied Carbon Roadmap for ASBEC (peak sustainable building industry group) and zero carbon related work at the City of Melbourne.
