Dr Danielle Camer is a multi-award-winning medical communicator, former neuroscientist, children’s author, and founder of The Human Medical Writer, dedicated to improving health communication in Australia and worldwide.
Her motivation for dancing for cancer in Stars of Wollongong 2026 is deeply personal. In 2023, Danielle lost her husband, Clint Shumack, to metastatic melanoma at just 37 years old, leaving her a widowed parent to their young daughter.
By dancing and hosting fundraising events, Danielle hopes to honour Clint’s legacy while raising vital funds for cancer research and support services. Every donation helps the Cancer Council continue lifesaving work for families affected by cancer. Please consider donating to support Danielle’s journey and help make a real difference. 💛
