Irena is a specialist continence and pelvic health physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapy in 2020), holds a Master’s qualification in Continence and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy (Curtin University 2009) and has over 15 years clinical experience in management of pelvic health conditions in women, men and transgender persons.
Irena is also a lecturer and clinical tutor at the post-graduate Continence and Pelvic Health physiotherapy course at Curtin University, and works part-time at Royal Perth Hospital. She is an active member of the Continence and Pelvic Health professional groups in Australia and is passionate about learning and translating knowledge and science to patient care.
Irena’s interests are in management of pelvic and sexual pain, bowel and bladder problems like voiding/defaecation difficulties, pain and incontinence.
Irena speaks Serbo-Croatian or Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian languages.
Outside of work, Irena loves singing, reading, cycling and spending time with her family and friends.
