Lynsey is an experienced permaculture practitioner and the Education Liaison person for the Permaculture in New Zealand (PINZ) council. She gained her Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) in 2021 through the Auckland Permaculture workshop. In 2025, she was awarded a Teacher Training Certificate following a permaculture teacher training course. During the course, she further developed this workshop.
In her professional life, Lynsey teaches social work at Massey University. She attained her PhD in 2021, entitled “Sustainable Social Work: A Response to the Climate Emergency from Social Work Education and Practice in Aotearoa, New Zealand”. Her PhD was honoured on the Dean’s list of exceptional Doctoral theses. In her teaching, she develops and delivers workshops on sustainable social work as part of the Bachelor's and Master of Applied Social Work curriculum. She also designed and teaches the course “Environmental sustainability in social and community work”.
