Durkhanai Ayubi tells the stories of her ancestral food and people. Keitha Thuy Young tells the stories of seeds and their people. When the two come together they offer a rich tapestry of storytelling, interwoven to awaken a sense of history in food crops and traditional recipes. Both their work explores themes of displacement, reconnection, and reclamation and the notion that by practicing an active re-membering of foods from our ancestral lineages, either through growing or cooking (but always sharing), there is the possibility of healing through returning our self-understanding to the land and nature we are all part of.
