Who we are
Economic Equality (EE) is a part of Women’s Health in The North's (WHIN) strategic priority area.
WHIN is the women’s health promotion and advocacy organization for the northern metropolitan region of Melbourne (NMR).
We are:
· not-for-profit

· run for and by women and gender-diverse people
We:
· provide health information and education to women and organizations
· develop policy and research
· create innovative resources
· train health and welfare professionals
· support and partner with other organizations on issues of strategic importance.
Our work
We work with grassroots communities, partner and stakeholder organizations to promote equity for women and gender-diverse people, with a focus on economic empowerment and reducing the barriers to accessing financial knowledge and resources.
- We initiate meaningful community engagement with multicultural communities that informs decision-making by delivering financial literacy education sessions using evidence-based material.
- Engage and collaborate with organizations in capacity building of the workforce in financial capability work across the state of Victoria.
We conduct research and collect data to amplify the voices of grassroots community issues for systems advocacy on better health and economic outcomes for women and gender-diverse population groups.
- Systematically collect evidence-base to bring about social change, advocate system change, and sector reform to address the barriers to economic equality for women and gender-diverse people.

We work to eliminate gender inequities and improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of women and gender-diverse people. WHIN is a key informant/expert on the barriers to economic equality arising from gender, for various priority population groups.
