Ecstatic Dance Christchurch was founded in Jan 2017, but started as a weekly dance on Dec 9th 2017, and since then has hosted over 350 events in and around Christchurch.
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form dance practice where participants can gather to dance to music without the need of following the instructions of a leader. In Ecstatic Dance the music is the leader and participants are free to weave their way through the different soundscapes.
It's like a dance club... but without the shoes, phones, spectators, booze, smoke or drugs... it's a guaranteed evening of REALLY good music that moves you in ways you didn't know you could!
It's a dance floor for 2 hours only... where you can be free to dance deep without inhibition or interruption. Simple, sensual and spectacular. Expect epic peaks & deep warm depths... finished off with a mini sound healing meditation.
