Engedi began when a group of parents recognised a need to be supported and offer their children a greater opportunity for inclusion and growth as valuable members of society. With this inspiration at the fore, Engedi Inc. began as a one-house organisation. This house was used for respite care for children and adults and became a place of refuge, refreshment, restoration and flourishing in the midst of the challenging journey of living with disability as the name, Engedi, so appropriately reflects.
Over the years Engedi has grown into a not-for-profit. Our organisation includes 10 Supported Independent Living houses and provide support to people living with a variety of disabilities to be independent, safe, valued and included. We also offer Life Skills programs which include social group activities and skill building opportunities for participants. Engedi also offers Physiotherapy, Speech and Occupational Therapy, Support Coordination and Plan Management through our Therapy Hub.
