Environmental Films Australia is a volunteer-run community group based in Naarm (Melbourne) that promotes action through cinema, community and connection. We prioritise climate and environments through film, provide platforms for artists to showcase their work, and create space for people to connect and exchange solutions.
In 2025, you’re invited to join us for a series of pop-up screenings throughout the year, culminating in a festival celebrating our 15th anniversary in October. If you’d like to be the first to hear about our upcoming events, sign up to our newsletter.
Our program navigates the relationship between humans and their environments and interrogates the way people think about the natural world. We feature films from the world’s most talented and socially-conscious filmmakers, embracing diversity and championing local, Indigenous, minority and creative voices.
We’ve been running since 2010, starting out as a weekend screening event in Palace Kino (as Environmental Film Festival Melbourne) and have since hosted festivals and events throughout Australia and online. Previously known as Environmental Film Festival Australia.
