Eric Dunan - Trumpet is the former Director of the Jazz Studies Program and Conductor in the Schools Band Program at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music. He established both of these programs in 2001 and continued his work and helped build them until April 2024. During the multiple decades Dunan helped put Wollongong on the map as a major presenter of jazz events having presented literally hundreds of concerts including Austrlian and International Artists including The Catholics, James Morrison, Fred Wesley, Linda May Oh, Melissa Aldana, Sandy Evans, The Vampires and many more.
As a professional trumpet player Eric played with San Francisco bands including Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, The Delta Wires, as well as various jazz, salsa, and R&B Bands. In Australia he has led his own jazz bands and been a feature artist and clinician at The Big Band Blast 2023 and 2024. He also plays lead trumpet with the South Coast Salsa Coalition and has played along side various Australian artists including James Morrison, Sandy Evans, and James Greening.
