Farm to Ferment seeks to empower food producers and consumers to transform the food system through the alchemy of fermentation.
Working directly with small scale growers' surplus/seconds produce we educate the community on fermentation and food system change, aiming to eliminate the construct of food ‘waste’. Ultimately, transforming the food system to one that is ecologically-sound and socially-just.
Fermentation for us is a conduit to connect to food, earth, creativity and each other. It transforms flavours, increases nutrient availability and preserves the bountiful harvests.
Farm to Ferment expresses deep gratitude to the innumerable cultures who have passed on this knowledge, and gratitude to the unceded lands on which I/we share in these cultures.
Farm to Ferment respects deeply the millennia long relationships to land, sky, water, and food the First Peoples of this continent have created and maintained. We acknowledge First People's custodianship of these lands.
