Founded in 1958, the Fogolar Furlan Club Inc. is the oldest Italian regional club in South Australia still fully owned and managed by its community.
Established by migrants from Friuli Venezia Giulia after World War II, the Club was created as a place of belonging, friendship and shared tradition. Many founding members worked in South Australia’s building industry and gathered on Sundays to share meals, wine and stories, traditions that continue to shape the spirit of the Club today.
In 2023, the New Bridge Project marked a significant revitalisation, bringing together professional hospitality services and a strong cultural and community mission.
The Club operates under Italian management, with experienced Italian chefs and hospitality staff who reflect its heritage through both service and cuisine.
Today, the Club is:
• A hospitality venue offering restaurant, bar and event services
• A professional function and hall hire provider
• A recognised cultural and community hub for the Italian and broader community
As a not for profit organisation, revenue generated through venue hire and hospitality directly supports our cultural programs and helps preserve and promote Italian heritage in South Australia.
