The Friends of Salmon Bay (FOSB) Advocacy Committee was formed in response to the SPS
Well-Resourced Schools initiative proposals announced on September 11,
2024.
In line with Article 1 – Purposes in the FOSB bylaws, the Advocacy Committee aims to:
(b.) help educate the adults who are part of the school community on matters of interest,
(e.)
contribute the collective efforts to improve the education system in
the Seattle School District and the State of Washington, and
(f.) foster and maintain strong connections with the communities of which the school is a part.
We do not agree that school closures due to budget deficits or
under-enrollment are in the best interest of our community, and will
continue to demand transparency, equity, and accountability from SPS.
