Foundations is the government appointed national body for Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) and Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs) in England. We sit in a privileged position, working day to day with civil servants and local authorities to turn good policy into real improvements in people’s homes.
Our work spans advice, training, research and hands on support for frontline services. Increasingly, we also play a connecting role, helping practitioners, commissioners and suppliers find each other, share what works and solve problems together. The aim is always the same: make it easier for people to get the right adaptation at the right time.
A big part of that happens through our events. From the buzzing DFG Champions Roadshows to the National Healthy Housing Awards, our gatherings are less about formal speeches and more about honest conversations, shared challenges and lightbulb moments. People come for the content, but stay for the connections.
Foundations is proud to be a trusted space where commissioners, practitioners, suppliers and innovators can meet as equals, united by a shared goal. When the right people come together, homes get safer, lives get better, and independence becomes something everyone can count on.
