The Friends of Linden Hill, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) membership supported nonprofit organization working to preserve and share the history and spirit of the Musser/Weyerhaeuser estate on the Mississippi River. Based in Little Falls, Minnesota, the organization cares for and maintains the Linden Hill Historic Estate, a city-owned property on the banks of the Mississippi River. The Friends of Linden Hill take on responsibility for the care, upkeep and maintenance of the Musser and Weyerhaeuser mansions, pavilion, barn, caretaker's house, swimmer's cottage, schoolhouse, playhouse as well as 9.5 acres of gardens and grounds.
The Friends of Linden Hill employ two full-time directorial staff as well as several part-time support staff. These roles include seasonal tour guides, bar and event staff and housekeepers. Dozens of volunteers are also committed to the organization and work closely with preservation and artifact care, museum curation, garden and grounds maintenance, snow removal, event planning, coordination and execution and so much more.
The Friends of Linden Hill fundraises throughout the year by hosting events, applying for grants, and offering mansion, pavilion and grounds rentals.
