Friends of Seagrass Tasmania Inc. is a community-led association that brings together local volunteers through hands-on events to monitor, restore, and raise awareness of seagrass meadows in Tasmanian coastal and estuarine environments. We organise and support monitoring days, restoration plantings, and education events for schools, community groups, and the general public, and provide training and resources to help new groups establish their own local activities. Through these events we collect valuable observational data that is shared with researchers and land managers, building a picture of seagrass health across Tasmania. Friends of Seagrass Tasmania Inc. believes that getting people onto the water and into their local environment is the most powerful way to build the connected, informed communities that healthy coastlines depend on.
