All Vinyl Queer Backroom Disco Sleaze
FunkStick is a twice monthly party at Baton Show Lounge in Chicago that seeks to celebrate and build Queer community.
It has dancing to DJs spinning all vinyl records and a backroom play area. The Second Sunday of each month features 70s Disco and the Fourth Sunday is Post-Disco and 80s Club Classics.
The backroom play area is completely separate from the main room with dancing. All bodies are welcome in the play area. Consent and respect are mandatory. There is a free clothes check for those who wish to use it.
The party operates on a sliding scale ticketing model that shows preference to people experiencing financial hardship, Femmes and female identifying people, BIPOC, GNC, and Trans folks who might not always feel welcome at events that have a predominantly white cis gay male crowd. The sliding scale is available for anyone who wishes to use it - no questions asked. No one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.
