This event is cohosted by The National Aged and Community Care Roundtable for Forgotten Australians (NACCRFA) and Wattle Place.
The National Aged and Community Care Roundtable for Forgotten Australians is a group that brings together Forgotten Australians and other Care Leavers as well as a diverse range of individuals and organisations throughout Australia all focused to help increase the availability, appropriateness, and quality of aged and community care services for Forgotten Australians.
Wattle Place assists adults who were placed in children’s homes, orphanages, other institutions or foster homes as children (including Forgotten Australians, Stolen Generations and Former Child Migrants), people impacted by past forced adoption practices and people who experienced institutional child sexual abuse (by school staff, clergy, cub leaders, foster parents, etc) and want to apply for Redress under the National Redress Scheme.
They acknowledge, validate and work within the context of traumatic early life experiences. They provide long term support and help to access records and documentation, provide counselling and therapeutic casework, along with other tailored, practical support.
