Grace Cross, Mixed Media/Textile Artist

Grace Cross is a mixed media/textile artist who lives in Brisbane Queensland. After thirty+  years as a visual art educator, she has focused for the past decade on her professional art practice, receiving numerous awards and finalist status for her mixed/media textile artworks which are held in collections in Australia, USA and Europe. 

Her artworks reflect her passions: “I create layered mixed media/textile artworks with a fusion of rusting, fibres, fabric, paper, acrylics, collage, stitching, and/or embellishments… Colour and nature are my catalyst, the lands of Australia my inspiration, and fabric and paper my tactile and creative form of expression.” 

In 2024 Grace was awarded the International Women of the Year Award as Champion of the Arts in her local community, for her innovative inception of the Open Studios Event. Grace is passionate about art and educating the wider community of the joys of making and creating.
