The Greek Orthodox Parish of Saint Andrew in Noarlunga is a vibrant and welcoming faith community serving the southern suburbs of Adelaide. Located at the corner of Beach and Morton Roads in Christie Downs, South Australia, the parish was established in 1984, with the foundation stone of the church laid on December 7, 1986, by His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos. The first Divine Liturgy was celebrated on October 25, 1987. Rooted in the rich traditions of the Greek Orthodox Church, the parish is dedicated to spiritual growth, worship, and fellowship. It is home to a diverse congregation of all ages, united by their faith and cultural heritage. Under the guidance of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, Saint Andrew’s offers regular liturgical services, sacraments, and community events, and plays a vital role in preserving and sharing Greek Orthodox traditions and values with future generations.
In March 2024, the parish endured a devastating fire that severely damaged the church. Through the prayers, generosity, and hard work of the community, the church was lovingly rebuilt, standing today as a testament to the parish’s resilience and faith.
The newly restored church will be officially consecrated by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia on Saturday, 13 September 2025, marking a significant spiritual milestone in the life of the parish.
