Hamish leads the R&D Tax Incentive program at Prime Partners, from the technical work behind a claim through to how it is positioned and the ongoing relationship with AusIndustry and the ATO that comes with the territory.
A lot of eligible R&D sits inside everyday operations, whether that is a grower trialling a different irrigation method, a manufacturer reworking a process, or a software team solving a problem with no off-the-shelf answer. Hamish spends the time to understand what a client is building or testing in technical terms, because that detail is what a claim ultimately stands on.
He works across the full life of a claim, from the first eligibility conversation through to documentation, lodgement, and any questions raised afterwards. Clients who have been given overpromised claims elsewhere tend to value the straight read he gives them, including the times the honest answer is that the work does not qualify. The R&D program rewards substance, and Hamish will tell a client exactly where they stand so the claim holds up under scrutiny.
Outside the office you will find Hamish on the football pitch, exploring a new corner of the world, or attempting to learn a new language.
