Harry Hartog is a family-owned bookshop, proudly carrying on six generations of the Berkelouw family's bookselling history, continued today by Robert and David Berkelouw. What began as a single family's love of books has grown into a network of stores across Australia, with the same family values. We remain proudly independent, still run by people who genuinely love what they sell, and still deeply committed to the communities we call home.
Inspired in part by the tradition of independent bookselling, and in part by the fantastical life of Harry Hartog himself, our shops are more than spaces lined with shelves.
