The founding members established the Hobsons Bay Dementia Soaring Falcons Alliance in July 2023. The group comprises individuals who are committed to raising awareness of dementia in Hobsons Bay City Council and creating a dementia-friendly and inclusive Hobsons Bay.
Natalie Ive is a person living with dementia, a Dementia Australia Advisory Committee member, a Dementia friendly Host and an educator. She does freelance work with The University of Melbourne, University of Tasmania, and Monash University and sits on various committees. Natalie was recently appointed Mild Cognitive Impairment representative for Dementia Australia on the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.
Daniela Kotevski is Natalie’s eldest daughter and provides informal support to her mother. She is very passionate about making change in the Hobsons Bay area for those living with dementia.
Charlene Borg is the manager of Fitness for Her Gym in Altona Meadows. She is passionate about supporting people across the dementia spectrum to enhance their quality of life. Charlene’s gym has been professionally audited, using the Dementia-Friendly Environmental Checklist, to ensure that clients are exercising in a safe and supportive environment.
Dr Liz Cyarto is an active ageing researcher and wellbeing practitioner. She has been working with seniors, including those living with dementia, for over 25 years. Liz is also a certified Forest Therapy Guide.
Sandra Wilson is a former Hobsons Bay Mayor and Councillor. As a supporter of inclusivity, she is passionate about making positive change on behalf of people living with dementia.
